Genspejl samler en bred vifte af nye og ældre værker fra Simon Bukhaves mere end 20 år som tegneserietegner, illustrator og billedkunstner. Spejlninger og spejlningsakser bliver i udstillingen en fællesnævner for papirklip, bogforsider, raderinger og tegninger – papirklippene kaster skygger på væggen og dunkle scenarier og narrativer i sort og hvid skaber forestillinger om det, der ligger omme bagved, og som ikke ses med det blotte øje.
Genspejl er den første udstilling i HFKD’s nye udstillingsserie SAGA, hvor fokus er på fortællende formater. 
Simon Bukhave er selvlært billedkunstner og illustrator, og er født i 1978 i Thy.
Han har illustreret bøger og artikler for blandt andre Gyldendal, Gads Forlag, Weekendavisen og Escho, og har udstillet i Norden, Europa og USA. I 2020 designede han dukker og skabte scenografi i samarbejde med instruktør Nis Søgaard til det tyske dukketeaterstykke Schonzeit.
Kunsthistoriker Pernille Zidore har skrevet en tekst til udstillingen.

Genspejl brings together a wide range of new and older works from Simon Bukhave's more than 20 years as a cartoonist, illustrator and visual artist. In the exhibition, reflections and mirror axes become a common denominator for paper clippings, book covers, etchings and drawings – the paper clippings cast shadows on the wall and dark scenarios and narratives in black and white create notions of that which lies behind and cannot be seen with the naked eye.
Genspejl is the first exhibition in HFKD's new exhibition series SAGA where the focus is on narrative formats. 
Simon Bukhave is a self-taught visual artist and illustrator, and was born in 1978 in Thy, Denmark.
He has illustrated books and articles for, among others, Gyldendal, Gads Forlag, Weekendavisen and Escho, and has exhibited in the Nordics, Europe and the USA. In 2020, he designed puppets and created scenography in collaboration with director Nis Søgaard for the German puppet theater play Schonzeit.
Art historian Pernille Zidore has written a text for the exhibition.
